Dunfermline and West Fife Sports Council Awards Evening
#teamBeath were represented once again at the annual Dunfermline and West Fife Sports Council Awards Evening, an event that shines a spotlight on the outstanding sporting talent, dedication, and leadership displayed across the school and in our local community. This year’s ceremony celebrated an array of remarkable achievements from Beath HS pupil and staff highlighting the strength and depth of school sport within our area.
The evening brought together athletes, teams, volunteers, and supporters to acknowledge the individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment both on and off the field. Beath High School was proudly represented across multiple categories, with several nominees earning top honours and runner‑up awards for their contribution to school and community sport.
A standout moment of the night was the announcement of the 2025 U15 Boys Football Team (current S4) as Sports Team of the Year Winners. Their triumph recognises not only a season of impressive performances but also their teamwork, resilience, and dedication. The boys collective work ethic and consistent representation of the school at the highest standard has made them deserving recipients of this prestigious award.
We are also delighted to celebrate the achievements of several talented senior pupils. Marlie Galloway (S6) was named Runner Up for Young Ambassador of the Year, an award that reflects her leadership, enthusiasm, and commitment to promoting sport and physical activity among younger students in her role as Platinum Ambassador. Marlie’s impact within the school community continues to be significant, and this recognition highlights her ongoing efforts to inspire others.
In the competitive category of Young Sports Personality of the Year, James Hardie (S4) achieved Runner Up status. James has shown tremendous dedication and sporting ability throughout the year, consistently demonstrating determination and sportsmanship across his our S4 football team and his own football club, Dunfermline Athletic. His achievements serve as an inspiration to younger athletes within the school.
The school was further represented by Elize Bauld (S6), who was awarded Runner Up for Sports Personality of the Year. This accolade acknowledges Elize’s exceptional contribution to school sport, her personal sporting performances, and her commitment to supporting and motivating others. Elize continues to be a role model whose positive influence resonates throughout the school after she won her second European Championship at the age of just 17 and became the first ever Scottish Athlete to achieve this.
Two special honours in the Services to School Sport category were awarded to dedicated staff members Mr Bell and Mr Duthie. Both have played instrumental roles in supporting school teams, organising sporting opportunities, and championing participation across all year groups. Their recognition reflects years of hard work, passion, and unwavering support for young people in sport.
Finally, the school also celebrated coaching excellence with Miss Gillan, who achieved Runner Up for Coach of the Year. Her commitment to nurturing talent, developing athletes, and fostering a supportive sporting environment in our school, particularly with our netball squads has made a profound difference within the school’s sporting community.
The evening was a proud occasion for all involved, showcasing the dedication, talent, and community spirit that define school sport at Beath HS. Congratulations to every nominee, runner up, and winner—each has contributed to another outstanding sporting year.
