As part of Maths Week Scotland, Madras College hosted the Enterprising Maths Fife 2026 competition on 24th September. This is an annual event which provides all Secondary schools in Fife with the opportunity to participate in a fun filled day, full of all things Maths, culminating in a fast-paced relay.

24 teams from 17 schools across Fife took part, including our very own team from Beath. S3’s Ellie Stark, Corben Mackenzie and S4’s Chinenye Madu and Ebunife Balogun did a fantastic job representing our school values #teamBeath. They showed great resilience and teamwork to finish in a very respectable 11th place!

The day included a variety of different Maths challenges and a practical round where the teams had to build a freestanding tower of Columbus cubes!

As part of the competition each team also had to design a poster based on the theme of ‘Maths Matters’. Ellie did an amazing job taking on this responsibility and produced an incredible entry.
